Health Insurance
Before arriving in Germany, please make sure to get a temporary travel insurance for the duration of your trip and the first couple of weeks of your stay in Germany.
Once you've arrived, your International Office will be happy to help you find out, which type of health insurance (public or private) is right for you. We are also there to support you with the application process. Please note that the health insurance coverage in Germany does not begin automatically, and you need to apply for it with a provider of your choice.

- Biometric photo
Once you've received your health insurance card or confirmation, please make sure to always carry it with you. In case you need to see an English-speaking doctor, do get in touch with us. We'll provide you with some contacts and help you schedule an appointment if necessary. In case you need medical assistance during the weekend, when doctors' practices are closed, please go to the emergency room of the nearest hospital, or, in urgent cases, call 112.
