The Leibniz Campus Lecture will shed light on the cosmological development of black holes, the nature of dark matter and what contribution the James Webb Space Telescope can make to their exploration.

Black holes are among the most fascinating and mysterious objects in the Universe. Numerous discoveries in recent years continue to pose new riddles for science: black holes from the early days of the universe as well as galaxies with astonishingly large black holes at their centers. Many of the observed phenomena contradict the current understanding of cosmology. One explanation could be primordial black holes that formed shortly after the Big Bang.
