Public talk (in German) “ Einsteins Relativitätstheorie im Universum und im Alltag”
The Hildesheimer Gesellschaft für Astronomie e. V. (HiGA) invites in the context of its series “Science - generally understandable” to a lecture about an area, which has immensely challenged the imagination of people in the past more than 100 years: Albert Einstein's theory of relativity and its importance in our everyday life as well as for the understanding of the universe.

Benjamin Knispel's talk on the questions: How does Einstein's theory determine processes in the universe and sometimes also our lives? Effects such as the stretching of time, extreme celestial bodies such as black holes and gravitational waves, which were only detected in 2015, are consequences of Einstein's theory of relativity. Where these and other relativistic effects occur in the universe, what they mean, and how they sometimes even affect us on a daily basis will be revealed in this lecture.
