In the fall of 2015, a new age of astronomy began. Since then, humanity has been observing the universe in a completely new way.
With a worldwide network of kilometer-sized detectors, an international research community is listening to mergers of black holes and neutron stars – more than 90 such cosmic collisions have been observed in the depths of space. What we can learn about these exotic celestial objects, how this works, and what else might be in store for us in the near future will be discussed in this talk.
