Night of Astronomy on 13 November in Hannover
As part of the “International Year of Astronomy” and the “Science Initiative Hannover”, on 13 November the “Night of Astronomy” will be held in Hannover City Hall. Representatives from the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and the Institute for Gravitational Physics Leibniz Universität Hannover, among other institutions, will be on hand. Prof. Dr. Karsten Danzmann, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics and head of the Institute for Gravitational Physics Leibniz Universität Hannover, will speak on the topic: “Listening in on the universe with gravitational waves - Quantum physics comes to the aide of astronomy”. In addition, a small exhibition focussing on gravitational wave astronomy will feature, among other things, a satellite model of the future LISA space mission for the detection of gravitational waves.
