IOP 2023 Top Cited Paper Award for GW170817 model comparison publication
LIGO-Virgo collaboration paper in the top 1% of the most-cited astronomy and astrophysics articles recently published in IOP journals
The paper “Model comparison from LIGO-Virgo data on GW170817's binary components and consequences for the merger remnant” was published in the IOP journal Classical and Quantum Gravity in January 2020 as a publication of the LIGO and Virgo scientific collaborations. Members of the Independent Max Planck Research Group “Binary Merger Observations and Numerical Relativity” at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Hannover, Germany, were heavily involved in the preparation of this paper, reviewed the analysis, and coordinated the writing team. IOP Publishing has now announced the paper as one of the “2023 Top Cited Paper Award winners from North America”.
Every year IOP Publishing announces their “Top Cited Paper Award winners from North America” and presents them with a certificate.
These awards are presented to papers in the top 1% of the most-cited articles recently published in IOP journals with corresponding authors based in North America. Citations are counted during the period of 2020 to 2022 using Web of Science. IOP Publishing congratulates all the authors on this outstanding achievement.
