I am using methods from quantum field theory to derive results in classical general relativity with special focus on the two-body problem and gravitational-wave physics. Here, the post-Minkowskian expansion of the two-body problem is elegantly derived from diagrammatic computations of amplitudes. In contrast to the post-Newtonian expansion, it assumes no limit on the velocity of the two gravitationally interacting objects. Current goals are to improve methods for computations of dissipative effects and include features of the interacting objects such as spin or tidal effects.

I completed my BSc in physics at University of Copenhagen in 2018. During my BSc studies I spent one semester at Aberystwyth University in Wales as exchange student. I completed my MSc in theoretical physics at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen in 2020. In 2019, I participated in the Nordita Master Class in Physics in Stockholm. In my MSc thesis I focused on how classical general relativity can be described by quantum field theory. Starting from October 2020, I am a PhD student with the research training group “Rethinking Quantum Field Theory” at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in cooperation with Alessandra Buonanno's department at the Albert Einstein Institute in Potsdam.
