Lea Bischof

Postdoc in the “Precision Interferometry and Fundamental Interactions” department

What is your academic education?

I studied physics at Leibniz University Hannover and did my PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute, AEI). I then spend 1.5 years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Florida before returning to the AEI.

Can you please describe your research?

I am working for the space mission LISA that will detect gravitational waves from space. My work is in verifying hardware that will be part of the scientific instruments onboard LISA.

What is your vision for women and girls in science in 20 years?

My vision is that we can all be the researchers we want to be, in a world without prejudices or restrictions.
