Main Focus
My research focuses on the modelling of black hole scattering dynamics using classical general relativity methods. The majority of my work has been using self-force in the extreme mass-ratio limit including the development of a novel framework to calculate the scatter angle correct to first-order in the mass ratio. I am also interested in the modelling of hyperbolic black hole encounters using effective one-body and numerical relativity as well as comparing classical results with quantum-like scattering calculations.

Curriculum Vitae
I am originally from the United Kingdom where I completed my MPhys in Physics at The University of Manchester in 2018. Following this, I studied for my Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Southampton under the supervision of Prof. Leor Barack. My thesis was titled “Self-force for hyperbolic black hole encounters” and I received my doctorate in 2022. I briefly worked as a Doctoral Prize Research Fellow at Southampton before moving to the AEI in November 2022 where I am now a Postdoctoral Researcher.
