Einstein@Home is a distributed open-source computing project in which volunteers use their computers to make astronomical discoveries and unlock the secrets of the cosmos.
With just a few clicks, your computer becomes part of a global network that is unlocking the secrets of the universe. At the booth, experts will show you how you can join, explain the background of the project with interactive exhibits, and present the latest research results. A live demo will show you how easy it is to sign up for Einstein@Home and how you can evaluate real scientific data yourself in the Zooniverse project “Einstein@Home: Pulsar Seekers” and discuss it with researchers and other volunteers.
An interactive laser interferometer demonstrates the basic principle of the kilometer-long gravitational wave detectors whose data is evaluated by Einstein@Home. An interactive computer exhibit invites visitors to learn more about astronomy with gravitational waves and try out data analysis with their own ears.
