Works Council Hannover

The Hannover works council represents the interests of employees towards the management of the institute. It monitors compliance with the statutory regulations affecting them, protects them from disadvantages and helps to improve the common working environment at the institute. [more]

The administration at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) supports the scientific departments, research groups, and central facilities at the institute. [more]

IT Department

We provide IT services for everyone at the Institute to support the scientific endeavour and productivity of the Institute. [more]

The library of the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) is a specialized library offering services mainly to the scientists at the institute. [more]

International Office

The International Office in Potsdam-Golm and Hannover support you in all matters related to your relocation preparations, arrival and stay in the Potsdam/Berlin area and Hannover area respectively. [more]

Research Funding

The Research Funding Office works to assist researchers in identifying, applying to and managing external and internal funding. [more]

You can book a room in the guest house which is located directly on the Max Planck Campus – only a few steps away from main building and canteen. [more]

Computer clusters

The Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics runs powerful computing facilities in Potsdam, Hannover, and Garching. The Hannover facilities are dedicated to data analysis, in which gravitational-wave detector data are searched for astrophysical signals. The facilities in Potsdam and Garching are used for complex numerical simulations; the Potsdam facilities are also used for gravitational-wave data analysis. [more]

Einstein@Home uses idle computing time donated by volunteers all around the world to search for weak astrophysical signals from spinning neutron stars using data from the LIGO gravitational-wave detectors, the Arecibo radio telescope, and the Fermi gamma-ray satellite. [more]

Software Packages

The AEI provides software packages used in various areas related to the work of the institute. [more]
