My research is mainly focused in using perturbative methods to study how fundamental fields behave in regions of strong-gravity. In particular, I'm currently interested in the role that black holes may play to investigate ultra-light dark matter candidates, such as axions, due to a phenomenon called the superradiant instability. I am also interested in several other aspects of gravity, such as black-hole perturbation theory, gravitational-wave astrophysics and modified theories of gravity.

I completed my Ph.D. in physics between 2013 and 2016 under the
supervision of Prof. Vitor Cardoso and Dr. Paolo Pani, at the Instituto
Superior Técnico, in Lisbon, Portugal. The main topic of my Ph.D. thesis
was on phenomenological aspects of fundamental fields around black
holes. In September 2016, I joined the AEI to start my first postdoc.
