Main Focus

My research is centered on the theoretical modelling of gravitational wave signals emitted by compact object binaries. Among the different approaches to the two-body problem in general relativity, the post-Newtonian framework allows to derive perturbative analytical results both for the dynamics and radiation emitted, which improve the accuracy of our models for the inspiraling phase of such binaries. In particular, I work on the effects of the spins of the two objects at high order. More recently, I also got interested in accelerated generation of waveform templates using reduced order models and in parameter estimation for the future space-based detectors like eLISA.

Curriculum Vitae

Born in France in 1987, I did my undergraduate studies at the École Polytechnique (Palaiseau) and at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon where I obtained my master's degree in physics. From 2010 to 2013, at the Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris under the supervision of prof. Luc Blanchet, on post-Newtonian theory and on modified gravity. I then moved to the USA from 2013 to 2015 for a postdoctoral position shared between the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and the University of Maryland. I joined the AEI as a postdoctoral researcher in November 2015.
