Information for Visitors of GEO600

GEO600 is the gravitational wave detector proposed in 1994 by the Institute for Gravitational Physics, the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and the Institute for Gravitational Research (University of Glasgow). The detector was constructed from 1995 to the end of 2001. There have been several successful commissioning runs between 2002 and 2006 (first results have been published) and GEO600 is now gradually approaching design sensitivity. For visiting GEO600 please contuct us—during measurements no visitations can be made.

Information on gravitational waves and GW detectors can be found here: Was sind Gravitationswellen? [in German]
